“The Japanese culture really helped me gain different perspective on life. I’d like to think that these unique and interesting experiences are reflected in my writing.”

On life: “The world is filled with too much trouble to take it seriously. Don’t take life too seriously because the irony of life is that none of us will get out of it alive. It’s why I add a bit comedy to my writing. Life is filled comedy.”
